Losing to the summer wind......

I have a couple of Frank Sinatra cds I like to listen to again and again from time to time. There's so many wonderful songs on there. I love them all -- but some songs really get to me.

I had a long summer.....one that actually lasted a couple of years....but like all wonderful things....it ended.

So now I listen to this song and it gets me every time ..... has it made me stronger? I don't know. Numb might be a better word.

Why did summer have to end? At least it ended with heavenly notes....literally .... Gustav Holst's The Planets with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia - after having dinner at the original Ruth's Chris Steakhouse - unbelievable.

"The summer wind came blowin' in from across the sea.
It lingered there to touch your hair and walk with me.
All summer long we sang a song and then we strolled that golden sand.
Two sweethearts and the summer wind.
Like painted kites, those days and nights they went flying by.
The world was new beneath the blue umbrella sky.
Then softer than a piper man one day, it called to you...

I lost you. I lost you to the summer wind....

The autumn wind and the winter winds they have come and gone.
And still those days those lonely days, they go on and on.
And guess whose sigh`s his lullabies through nights that never end.
My fickled friend, the summer wind.
The summer wind warm summer wind
Mmm the summer wind."
